Advocating equal access to education, science and technology for women and the girl child at the 6th National Conference of Women in Technical Education and Empowerment.
At the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, on 9 October 2012, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun called for equal access to education, training, science and technology for women and the girl child, to empower them, eliminate discrimination and promote the eradication of poverty.
She spoke at the 6th National Conference of Women in Technical Education and Empowerment (WITED), themed "Enhancing Female Education and Employment in Science and Technology for Sustained National Transformation".
She stressed the need to help women acquire business, trade, information and entrepreneurship skills, and to encourage children, especially girls, to take more interest in science and technology subjects.
She presented prizes and certificates to excelling female students in science subjects, and asked the organisers to identify the overall best student for further sponsorship at state level.
