Mrs. Amosun encouraged students to cultivate a reading culture, drawing on the "17 Secrets of High-flying Students".
At the Global Reading Festival 2012, held at the Valley View Auditorium, Isale-Igbein, Abeokuta, on 24 November 2012, Mrs. Amosun advised students to cultivate a reading culture to excel academically. She encouraged them to hold on to the principles of "17 Secrets of High-flying Students", a book by Mr. Fela Durotoye.
Reading from the book, she highlighted secrets including the laws of decision, foresight, motivation, reward, concentration and sacrifice, saying greatness comes through hard work and determination. She was presented with a creed of promise as an Ambassador of an empowered and motivated generation.
The Ogun State Director of Gemstone, Pastor Rotimi Bolaji, said the book would be read simultaneously in 17 cities and 17 countries to help students master the habit of reading.
“You have the responsibility to yourself to always do the right thing, and when this is done you are working towards peace in the state, the nation and the world at large. It will be in your best interest to cultivate the habit of reading to excel in life.”
