Women associations from the 20 local government areas of Ogun State commended Mrs. Amosun for her humanitarian work at an end-of-year parley attended by over 500 women.
Women associations from the 20 local government areas of Ogun State commended Mrs. Olufunso Amosun for her humanitarian service to the people, particularly the needy, and called on other eminent individuals and organisations to emulate her.
The commendation came on 26 December 2012 during the end-of-year parley she organised for women associations at the Lawn Tennis Court of the Government House, Oke-Igbein, Abeokuta, with over 500 women in attendance.
Mrs. Amosun thanked the groups for supporting her Uplift projects, which had put smiles on the faces of the needy, and pledged to do more to reduce poverty among women in the state to the barest minimum.
The President of the Medical Women Association of Nigeria, Dr. Winifred Adenuga, noted that Mrs. Amosun's contribution to health care delivery, particularly the campaign against breast and cervical cancer, spoke volumes of her passion to improve the quality of women's lives in the state.
Mrs. Amosun gave each group food items, including bags of rice, beans, vegetable oil, cartons of spaghetti and noodles, and bags of sugar, along with cash gifts for the Yuletide season.
“A lot of our members who were unemployed can now make ends meet and support their families.”
