YMO AI & Digital Training Hub Opens in Ile-Ife, Welcomes First Cohort
Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, Yeye Moremi Oodua, has commissioned the YMO AI & Digital Training Hub in Ile-Ife and admitted its first cohort of trainees in AI, digital skills, coding and entrepreneurship.
The YMO AI & Digital Training Hub in Ile-Ife, Osun State, is now officially open. The hub was commissioned by Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, Yeye Moremi Oodua, at a ceremony that also marked admission into its first training cohort.
The hub gives youths, students and unemployed graduates practical skills in artificial intelligence, digital technology, coding and entrepreneurship, so they can take part in a technology-driven global economy.
"Creators, not just consumers"
Speaking at the commissioning, Mrs. Amosun said: "I strongly believe that our young people must not merely be consumers of technology; they must be equipped to become creators, innovators, entrepreneurs, and responsible leaders." She described the hub as "an investment in human capital and a platform through which young people can discover their potential."
Olori Aderonke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi, wife of the Ooni of Ife and Global Ambassador of the Queen Moremi Ajasoro Initiative, praised the hub as an effective response to youth unemployment. With more graduates than available professional positions, she noted, practical skills in graphics, AI and digital marketing are essential for employment and self-reliance.
How the training works
Training is built around doing, not just listening:
- 20% theory
- 60% hands-on practice
- 20% projects and assessment
Trainees learn to use digital tools and productivity software, apply AI in work and business, create professional digital content, build websites and market online.
Who can join
The hub serves secondary and tertiary school leavers, students, aspiring tech professionals, entrepreneurs, small-business owners and members of the Ile-Ife community. Graduates receive a YMO AI & Digital Skills certificate, along with mentorship, portfolio development, networking and internship opportunities.
